I have been coaching swimmers, runners and triathletes for over 18 years. I am the co-founder/owner of Chicago Endurance Sports
(CES), Chicago’s largest multisport training company.  In 2005, CES coached over 1,300 athletes in various endurance sports & specialty classes.

A Boston qualified runner and seasoned triathlete, I have completed 23 marathons, 3 century rides, the 400+ mile Ride the Rockies bike tour, and countless triathlons (Sprint through Ironman). Most recently, I completed Ironman New Zealand, after a “fun” winter of training in the basement!  I got started on the whole “Ironman” thing, when I decided to compete in the 2005 Ironman Wisconsin.  I think part of the reason I decided to do it is that I got tired of people asking me, “Have you done an Ironman?”.  So, I decided that the time was right, and spent 6 months preparing for Ironman Wisconsin, where I qualified for the Ironman World Championships in Hawaii for 2006. And just 4 weeks later, I qualified for the 2006 Boston Marathon at The LaSalle Bank Chicago Marathon.  I was pretty hooked!

In college, I was a Division 1 level swimmer at the University of Wisconsin-Madison, where I earned my degree in Exercise Physiology. Prior to creating CES with Jenny Hadfield, I was the Fitness Operations Manager, Running Coach and Master Swim Coach at the Gold Coast Multiplex fitness club in Chicago.  In addition, I was a Marathon & Triathlon coach for the Leukemia & Lymphoma Society’s Team in Training for over 5 years and created the Triathlon Team in the Chicagoland area.

I am the proud father of three, wonderful children and am lucky to have the opportunity to work from my home so that I can be a regular part of their lives as they grow up!  And without the support and love from my beautiful wife, Heather, none of this would be possible - thank you sweetheart!

Giving it more meaning...

Since 2004, I’ve been raising funds and awareness for the Lance Armstrong Foundation (LAF).  To date, we’ve raised over $20,000 to help LAF do what they do - support those living with, through, and beyond cancer.   Please help me keep this going - thank you!  For more details on why this is a passion of mine, visit here...
